Surakarta (30/7) – Gibran Azhar Pangestu, a student of Communication Science at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), conducted a video content production workshop for social media. The event, titled Creative Strategy Workshop, is part of the Community Service Program (KKN) and was attended by eleven (11) members of the Serengan Sub-district Children’s Forum. The participants were a mix of junior high and high school students from the Serengan Sub-district, Serengan District, Surakarta City.
The workshop took place at the Serengan Sub-district Library. During the session, Gibran explained the steps for creating video content for social media, from scriptwriting to editing. The material was presented concisely to ensure an optimal training session.
The training began with showing the participants an example of the video content to be created. Afterwards, all participants were asked to take footage and record voice-overs based on the prepared script. The content created was an invitation to visit the library, complete with location information.
At the end of the session, Gibran handed over a content framework as a means to sustain the program. It is hoped that this framework can be used by participants to write their creative ideas before execution, as scriptwriting is the first step in creating video content.
“It was exciting. I’m happy to learn how to make content. It’s also my first time,” said Putri, one of the participants in the workshop.
The workshop aims to spark the participants’ creativity in the digital realm. Moreover, the Serengan Sub-district Children’s Forum has an Instagram account that has been inactive, despite having many activities that could be documented. This workshop serves as a platform to revive the publication of their activities.
The provided script is an effort to introduce video content production to the participants, while the script framework is given to facilitate their creativity, both within and outside the Children’s Forum.
“This script can be used to create promotional content for your parents’ business,” Gibran told Thea, one of the participants who was also the child of a local small business owner.
