Semarang – The Department of Communication Studies at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Diponegoro, is actively involved in the strategic partnership between FISIP UNDIP and the Central Java Office of Communication, Informatics, and Digital Affairs (Diskomdigi). The agreement signed on Friday (February 20, 2026) at Gradhika Bhakti Praja, Semarang, marks an important initiative to expand students’ internship opportunities and academic research in public communication relevant to regional development.

The cooperation agreement was signed by the Head of Central Java Communication and Information Agency Agung Hariyadi and Dean of UNDIP Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono., M.Pol.Admin. The ceremony, witnessed by the Governor of Central Java Ahmad Luthfi and provincial officials, opens opportunities for Communication Studies students to participate in internships, engage in government communication research, and contribute to the creation and dissemination of regional development content. These engagements provide students with direct exposure to policy communication dynamics and public messaging strategies at the regional government level.

The collaboration also extends academic inquiry into areas such as development communication, government digital media management, and technological innovation in communication. Through the active involvement of students and faculty, the Department of Communication Studies aims to deliver contextual and relevant education aligned with contemporary public communication challenges.

This partnership enables the Department of Communication Studies at FISIP UNDIP to foster graduates who are not only theoretically sound but also practically prepared to navigate the evolving landscape of public communication in the digital era. (Muhammad Rif’at Al-Razi)
