Semarang\u2014Students of the Undergraduate <\/span>Communication Science<\/b> Program have started filling out the IRS (Study Plan Filling) for the Odd Semester 2021\/2022 through <\/span>Undip<\/b>‘s<\/span> SIAP (Academic Information System) from July 15, 2021, to August 13, 2021. As with the previous IRS, students must waiting for the opening of the available class or course quota and selecting the desired class. Several students shared their experiences when filling out the IRS.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis odd semester IRS filing is a bit confusing, the forms of information conveyed to students vary, starting from the date of filling out the IRS, what form of filling out the IRS is. The form of directive communication is not clear,\u201d said Daffa Satriowibowo, a 2018 <\/span>Communication Science<\/b> student.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Nadia Audy Janatun’adn, a 2019 <\/span>Communication Science<\/b> student who served as Head of the HMPS <\/span>Communication Sciences<\/b> Advokesma Department, had problems accessing the SIAP website, which was often down due to the large number of students accessing it simultaneously. Overall, Nadia admitted that her IRS filing was still going well.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Head of Undergraduate <\/span>Communication Science<\/b> Study Program, Rouli S. Manalu, inform regarding filling out the IRS is sufficient and that filling out the IRS is not something difficult. Students from the beginning have been directed how to fill out the IRS. Lecturers do not take care of filling out the IRS because the lecturer is part of the academic department. Meanwhile, filling out the IRS is an administrative part. She hopes that in the future students will be more proactive and self-manage so that <\/span>Communication Science<\/b> students are well-informed with the existing schedules and courses.<\/span><\/p>\n

“In other words, the student experience is accumulated because they add courses every semester,” said the lecturer who is familiarly called Mbak Uli in the <\/span>Communication Sciences<\/b> environment. “After all, students learn to be adults, they must be independent, they may ask questions, but independent information seeking is important,” she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

One thing related to filling out the IRS is that the Head of the Undergraduate <\/span>Communication Science<\/b> Study Program felt very helped by HMPS, especially Advokesma who organized each batch and checked students whose classes clashed. \u201cThanks to HMPS, especially Advokesma so that they can manage, the study program admin is very helpful for my notes this semester. Very helpful and grateful with HMPS,\u201c continued Mbak Uli.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nadia as part of Advokesma explained that her party had provided direction for students in preparing for filling out the IRS for odd semesters by providing information on the academic date for filling out the IRS. Currently, the Advokesma continues to coordinate with the Head of Study Program to overcome problems when filling out the IRS, such as conflicting course schedules and class quotas that are already full.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uli Zahro Irsyadiah, as Advokesma Staff of HMPS<\/span> Communication Science<\/b>, explained that the study program recommended that students, especially those whose class schedules collide, as much as possible find friends who want to exchange schedules.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Until now, we are still updating the data recap and reporting to the study program admin for the process of unlocking the IRS for students who want to exchange, but it has already been approved by the guardian lecturer. For the full quota, so far, no one has run out of class quota, so far, the courses are still clashing,” she explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

She also provides a special strategy for students to maximize filling out the IRS, namely in choosing course hours, they can discuss with other student friends so that they can choose classes at the desired time. Before filling out the IRS, students are encouraged to read the Academic Guidelines book to reduce the possibility of choosing the wrong course.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFill out the PBM evaluation before filling out the IRS because it takes a lot of time. You have to check the SIAP web often because this semester there is no notification, the classes that are opened are not all courses, you have to check the SIAP web often,\u201d said Nadia who also shared her strategy in filling out the IRS.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Quickly take the course when the class has opened, don’t know when it will be full, you have to take the class immediately so it won’t be a problem,” she concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n
