Semarang\u2014The\u00a0Communication Science<\/strong>\u00a0Student Association (HMPS) of\u00a0Universitas<\/strong>\u00a0Diponegoro<\/strong>\u00a0had released a new program called Exchange Mikat which was coordinated by the Interests and Talents (Mikat) division. This program aimed to be a medium and a means for\u00a0Communication Science<\/strong>\u00a0students who wanted to channel their interests and talents while undergoing the online lecture system.<\/p>\n

The Mikat Division already had several programs to channel the interests and talents of the previous\u00a0Communication Science<\/strong>\u00a0students, such as Commusician, a community for\u00a0Communication Science<\/strong>\u00a0students who liked music, and Cozy, a student community for those who had an interest in futsal. The two programs were offline based, so it was not possible to run them during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

As the one who was in charge, the Mikat Division felt the obligation to look for alternatives so that Communication Science students still had media to channel their interests and talents. The presence of\u00a0Tukar Mikat<\/em>, an acronym for\u00a0Tunjuk Karya Minat Bakat\u00a0<\/em>(show interest and talent), was a substitute for the previous programs. It was carried out online by using the\u00a0Communication Science<\/strong>\u00a0Student Association\u2019s Instagram page (@hmpscomm_undip) as the medium.<\/p>\n

The process of creating the\u00a0Tukar Mikat<\/em>\u00a0content was carried out by the Mikat Division while still seeking approval from the creatives. Maria Renata, a 2020\u00a0Communication Science<\/strong>\u00a0student, also a staff of the Mikat Division who were responsible for the\u00a0Tukar Mikat<\/em>\u00a0program, told the flow of creating the first edition of the\u00a0Tukar Mikat<\/em>\u00a0content.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter we determine who will perform, we approach the first one, Cheivon. Next, we do cover art and editing, we think that what if Mikat will do the edit yet with the approval and templates by the creative team,\u201d explained Maria.<\/p>\n

The approach method used by the Mikat division did not mean narrowing the opportunities for other students to show their interests and talents. It was because there were no fixed criteria that became the benchmark for selecting the performer in Tukar Mikat content.<\/p>\n

\u201cActually, there are no certain criteria for those who deserve to be published, because according to us all interests and talents are valid, as long as they want to contribute at the Tukar Mikat program, give entertainment for the\u00a0Universitas Diponegoro<\/strong>\u00a0Communication Science\u00a0<\/strong>students, we also hope that the public other than the\u00a0Universitas Diponegoro Communication Science\u00a0<\/strong>students\u00a0can see and be interested with this content,\u201d said Maria.<\/p>\n

As a colleague who was also responsible for the Tukar Mikat program, Wim Naga Mulia, a 2020\u00a0Communication Science\u00a0<\/strong>student revealed that the purpose of holding that\u00a0Tukar Mikat<\/em>\u00a0was so that students could continue to hone their talents in the mid of boredom while undergoing the online lectures.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they just do the lectures, they (Communication Science<\/strong>\u00a0students) must feel tired, don\u2019t they? At least they also need to do their hobbies and passions, and with this Tukar Mikat, we aim to ignite their passion to keep working, honing their talents, and be productive with their interests and talents,\u201d said Wim.<\/p>\n

In addition to developing their interests and talents, as well as being entertainment for\u00a0Communication Science<\/strong>\u00a0students, the Tukar Mikat was expected to be an inspiration for other study programs to organize similar programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, then I hope that Tukar Mikat can be an inspiration for other study programs to create work programs as well as breakthroughs so that activities that should be offline can be allocated online. Besides that, so those other associations can continue to develop the interests and talents of their fellow students,\u201d concluded Maria.<\/p>\n
