Tubagus Alnur (Mas FISIP 2021) and Afrilla Amrina (Mbak FISIP Persahabatan 2021)

Semarang – FISIP Mars 2021 is a sports and arts week (Porseni) organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FISIP Undip as a medium of expression and appreciation for the interests and talents of Orange campus students. Consistently, Communication Science (Ilkom) students make another achievement at the FISIP Mars event like the previous year. This year, the Communication Science Study Program won six competitions, namely 1st place in E-Sports Mobile Legend (Commpride), 1st place in Color Photography (Syahida Alam), 1st place in Men’s Poetry Reading (Dimas Apriliansyah), 2nd place in Short Story Writing (Rachel Aina), winner of Mbak FISIP Persahabatan (Afrilla Amrina), and winner of Mas FISIP (Tubagus Alnur).

The selection of Mas and Mbak FISIP is one of the most prestigious competitions in FISIP Mars because the winners are students who are considered the most representative of FISIP Undip. There is a series of selections that participants must follow to become finalists which are then selected again by all FISIP students through voting. This year, Communication Science was again made proud of the election of Tubagus Alnur as Mas FISIP 2021 and Afrilla Amrina as Mbak FISIP 2021.

Tubagus, who is a student of class 2020, is motivated to take part in a series of events for Mas and Mbak (Mr. and Ms.) FISIP because he sees this event as a place for him to develop and learn to become a better person so that he deserves to be a FISIP representative. Tubagus also wants to increase his experience, work, and contribute more to the community and be a good example for others.

“While I can still do it, I can still achieve it, I can still live it, and the opportunities are available, this experience can be an opportunity for me to develop myself to be even better,” explained Tubagus.

According to Tubagus, the most important thing to be prepared for is self-confidence. Tubagus instilled a mindset of “You can get through all this” in him. He also asked for support from parents as well as advice and direction from Mas and Mbak FISIP last year

Meanwhile, Afrilla admitted that she had no confidence in herself because she thought she was not as cool as her friends. However, after participating in a series of events, Afrilla was very grateful because she got so much. Such as gaining knowledge, connections, and experiences, surviving the selection process. At the peak of the event, Afrilla was given a challenge so that she learned to have the courage to express her opinion and solve problems well.

“From a mental perspective, the preparation is more about trying to stay calm. Because being honest at first, was insecure about other cool participants. But in the end, I believe that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and they are cool in their way,” said Afrilla.

Afrilla said that she also prepared herself by asking for directions from the previous Mas and Mbak FISIP. According to him, it is also important to prepare physically, mentally, and insight. Not to forget, he also studied culture because this event has a concern on culture.

Tubagus and Afrilla agreed that this series of events was very memorable, especially the Culture Class event where participants were taught how to speak in public, face questions from interviewers, communicate well, and deal with pressure. The highlight of the event, which was stressful because they had to think fast and have an opinion, was still very memorable for both of them.

After being named Mas FISIP 2021, Tubagus felt very honored because he could represent the Ilkom Study Program and become the new face of FISIP. He is very grateful to BEM and all those who have supported him. He hopes that he can work together with all of FISIP Mas and Mbak so that they can bring the name of FISIP Undip to a better one.

In realizing real action for FISIP, Tubagus has a program that is still a draft where it wants to create a TikTok account and revive the Instagram account of Mas and Mbak FISIP.

“I took the initiative to make this program because previously I only got information about Mas and Mbak FISIP through BEM social media. Thus, I can help in the field of Soraya as well as related to cultural issues like that, “said Tubagus.

Afrilla also admitted that he was very grateful and happy for this achievement. For him, it is an honor in itself to be named Mbak FISIP Persahabatan 2021. She hopes to be able to hold the mandate in carrying out his duties and be able to work together well too.

“From the start of the competition, I tried to bond and get closer to all the participants. And I don’t think I can choose to be Mbak Persahabatan. Hopefully, I can embrace all my friends and contribute actively to FISIP Undip in 2021,” concluded Afrilla.
