Solo, 23 May 2025 – The company visit programme to Bank Indonesia Solo on Friday (23/5) was attended by students from three universities, namely Universitas Diponegoro (Communication Studies Programme), Sebelas Maret University (UNS), and Pignatelli University. This activity aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of Bank Indonesia’s role as the central bank and to introduce the digital payment system that is currently being developed in Indonesia.

The series of events began at 08:17 WIB, starting with the mobilisation of participants to the Bank Indonesia Solo Building. Upon arrival at the location, participants conducted internal attendance checks, had their belongings checked by security officers, and re-registered before entering the event room on the 3rd floor.

The main material was delivered directly by Bank Indonesia. The first session discussed Bank Indonesia’s main tasks, including maintaining monetary stability, regulating and maintaining the smooth running of the payment system, and supervising the banking system in Indonesia.

The second session presented the theme ‘Love, Pride, Understanding the Rupiah’, which emphasised the importance of fostering a sense of ownership of the national currency. Students were introduced to the characteristics of authentic Rupiah banknotes, their history, and the philosophical values contained in the design of Indonesian banknotes.

In the third session, participants learned about the development of non-cash payment systems, particularly QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard). This material was supplemented with interactive quizzes and question-and-answer sessions that gave participants the opportunity to interact directly with the speakers.

In addition, students were also invited to practise the 3D method (Look, Feel, Hold) to distinguish between genuine and counterfeit money using their own banknotes. Additional education on how to maintain the physical condition of Rupiah banknotes was also provided

After the series of materials was completed, the activity continued with a post-test to measure participants’ understanding. Participants with the highest scores received appreciation from Bank Indonesia.

The official event closed with remarks from a representative of Bank Indonesia, the presentation of plaques from each university, and a group photo session. Before leaving the venue, participants also received refreshments prepared by Bank Indonesia Solo.***
