Semarang (September 17, 2025) – The Department of Communication Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro, celebrates another remarkable achievement. Ainun Rahimah Iskandar, a 2023 Communication Science student, successfully earned a Silver Medal at the international competition Indonesia Inventors Day 2025.

The event, organized by the Indonesia Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA), took place on September 11–14, 2025, at SMESCO Exhibition Hall, Jakarta. Ainun was part of a cross-disciplinary team named “Charing Cub,” which presented an innovative project titled “Charing Cub: A Digital Innovation for the Future of Children and Family Empowerment.”

Ainun emphasized the importance of communication in technological innovation. “Communication is not only about delivering messages, but also about building narratives, designing dissemination strategies, and bridging innovation so it can truly be embraced by society,” she explained. According to her, communication plays a vital role in connecting technology with people, ensuring that innovations reach and benefit their intended audiences.

The team consisted of seven students from diverse fields, including Psychology, Statistics, and Informatics. This collaboration demonstrated how Communication Science serves as a crucial connector in multidisciplinary teamwork, particularly when innovations aim to empower society.

Competing in the World Young Inventors Exhibition (WINTEX) category, their project impressed international judges and earned them the Silver Medal. Indonesia Inventors Day is a prestigious global event that gathers inventors, researchers, and students from various countries to showcase innovative works.

Ainun’s success illustrates that UNDIP Communication Science students are not only thriving in academic pursuits but also contributing on an international stage. This achievement reinforces the idea that communication is the key to transforming innovations into impactful societal solutions.
