Adinda, a student participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) from Universitas Diponegoro, has implemented a work program titled “Strengthening Local Wisdom Kridho Laras Karawitan through Social Media.” This program aims to bolster the existence of Javanese traditional arts, particularly the Kridho Laras Karawitan in Kayen Village, by utilizing social media as a platform to disseminate and promote this art form to a broader audience.
Kridho Laras Karawitan is a traditional Javanese art form in Kayen Village that faces challenges in maintaining its popularity in the digital era. In response to this, the author initiated efforts to assist the Kridho Laras Karawitan management in understanding and using social media as an effective tool to introduce this traditional art to younger generations and the wider public.
In this work program, the author guided the Kridho Laras Karawitan management in creating and managing social media accounts across various platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Through this guidance, the author provided training on how to maximize the use of social media, including setting up social media accounts, creating engaging content, using relevant hashtags, and strategies to increase audience interaction.
Additionally, Adinda discussed the basic techniques of content creation that could be uploaded to social media. The content includes recordings of karawitan practice sessions, art performances, and interviews with karawitan performers about the history and cultural values embedded in this art form. These contents are expected to serve as effective educational and promotional tools for Kridho Laras Karawitan.
As a result of this activity, the author launched a booklet titled “Using Social Media for Traditional Arts.” This booklet provides practical guidelines for traditional art managers, such as those of Kridho Laras Karawitan, on creating and managing social media accounts, including content strategies and account management.
With this program, it is hoped that Kridho Laras Karawitan can continue to develop and become more widely known, especially among the younger generation familiar with social media. The program also opens up new opportunities for the preservation of traditional arts through digital innovation, ensuring that local wisdom such as Kridho Laras Karawitan remains sustainable and relevant in the modern era.
