In an effort to boost purchasing power within the community, Nasya Alyalina Dita, a student participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) from Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), organized a workshop on the importance of using QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) as a payment medium for several Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) around the Ketoyan Village Hall, Wonosegoro District, Boyolali Regency.
This program was initiated to ensure that these MSMEs are not left behind in the rapidly advancing digital era. By focusing on the creation of QRIS that is easy, affordable, and quick, this workshop served as an important means of increasing the knowledge of MSME operators in Ketoyan Village. Besides being easy, affordable, and quick, the use of QRIS is also expected to boost MSME sales, supported by the strategic locations where these MSMEs operate.
Educating MSMEs on the importance of using QRIS as a payment medium can offer them significant opportunities to expand their businesses more inclusively and broadly. The limited use of QRIS among MSMEs in Ketoyan Village has hindered the maximization of sales, especially for customers who do not carry cash.
UNDIP KKN students identified this as a problem that needs to be addressed to improve the quality of service and payment options for customers at the relevant MSMEs. The education provided focused on MSMEs in the Food and Beverage sector, including Es Teler vendors, Pecel Lele stalls, and other sachet drink sellers around the Ketoyan Village Hall.
The program was met with enthusiasm by MSME operators, who previously had little understanding of the process and benefits of using QRIS. They also expressed hope that the administrative process involved in creating QRIS would be directly supported by the village apparatus as a collaborative effort to improve the welfare of MSME operators in Ketoyan Village.
It is hoped that MSME operators in Ketoyan Village will begin to optimally develop their businesses in this digital era through the creation and use of QRIS in the future. The education provided by UNDIP KKN students is expected to serve as a catalyst for the progress of Ketoyan Village through the empowerment of its existing MSMEs.
