Kedungrejo, Boyolali — The 2024 Team II of the Community Service Program (KKN) from Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) continues to demonstrate its commitment to village development through the successful organization of a “Public Speaking Skills Enhancement Workshop,” held on the evening of Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Jatimulyo Hamlet Field, Kedungrejo Village. The event was led by Jesika Exsperanza, a Communication Science student, who provided specialized training to the local youth and members of the village’s Karang Taruna (Youth Organization).

The workshop was met with great enthusiasm from the participants, who included representatives from various hamlets’ Karang Taruna. The event began with a presentation on the basics of verbal and non-verbal communication. Jesika explained how effective communication techniques could boost confidence when speaking in public. The discussion was not limited to theory; participants were also guided on how to overcome nervousness through practical techniques, which they immediately applied during the simulation session.

This initiative was driven by the pressing need to improve communication skills among the village’s youth, especially considering that many of them have recently graduated from junior and senior high schools. It is hoped that strong public speaking skills will encourage these youths to take a more active role in village activities, thereby strengthening their involvement in the future development of the village.

The workshop proceeded smoothly and received positive feedback from both participants and the surrounding community. They appreciated this initiative as a tangible step towards building a more confident young generation, ready to take on greater roles in society. Looking ahead, it is hoped that similar training sessions can continue to sustain the momentum of youth empowerment in the village.***
