Sudimoro, (July 31, 2024) – Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are productive business entities operated by individuals, groups, households, or small business entities that meet specific criteria. MSMEs play a significant role in Indonesia’s economic growth, accounting for 99% of all business units. Despite their substantial contribution, MSMEs still face various challenges that need to be addressed to ensure continuous growth.
MSME actors must confront numerous challenges, particularly in innovation and technology, digital literacy, productivity, branding, and marketing. Unfortunately, based on interviews and observations, MSME actors in Sudimoro Village still experience limited knowledge in utilizing digital technology for marketing purposes.
Recognizing the importance of technology in supporting MSME growth, the “Education and Digital Marketing Training for MSME actors through Instagram” program was initiated by Kinanti Adinda Widiaputri, a Community Service Program (KKN) student from Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP). This program was specifically designed for MSME actors in Sudimoro Village, offering engaging education and hands-on training on utilizing social media for marketing purposes.
The education and training provided aim to enhance the knowledge and skills of MSME actors in leveraging social media as an effective marketing tool. The education began by introducing the basic concepts of digital marketing and how the “Instagram” platform can serve as a powerful tool to reach more consumers. The materials covered the importance of creating engaging content, the correct use of hashtags, and how to increase interaction with Instagram followers.
After explaining the basic understanding, participants were given practical training on using Instagram as a marketing medium. The training included creating business accounts, crafting attractive profiles, and strategies for posting consistent content. Participants were also taught how to use Instagram features such as Instagram Stories, Instagram Feeds, and Instagram Reels.
This education and training are expected to provide new knowledge that is relevant to the marketing needs of MSME products. The program stands as a concrete example of the contributions made by UNDIP’s KKN students to support MSMEs in adapting to innovation and technology, digital literacy, productivity, branding, and marketing.

This digital marketing training is hoped to be the initial step in fostering greater confidence among MSME actors in Sudimoro Village in using “Instagram” as a marketing platform, enabling them to begin experiencing its benefits in expanding their market reach. With the knowledge and skills acquired, MSME actors in Sudimoro Village are now better equipped to optimize the potential of their products.
