Semarang – Diponegoro University Communication Science students batch 2018 presented Panggung Kreativitas Mahasiswa (Parama Fest) which debuted this year. Parama Fest wishes to pave the way for Indonesian youth to channel their talents and creativity through organizing four competitions and one webinar. “The Power Of Communication To Elevate Society” was chosen as the theme raised at this inaugural moment.
After cutting the ribbons on April 12, 2021, Parama Fest is now entering the collection round of Opinion Writing, Photography, Infographic Design and Podcast competitions and registration for the Webinar until May 19, 2021, ten days before the peak of the event on May 29, 2021, with the holding of Webinars and giving an award to the winner of the race.
Even though it was held for the first time, the head of the Parama Fest committee, Nicho Putera Gustantyo, said that the Communication Science students who were involved had prepared the event carefully, for example networking with Communication Science student association organizations on other campuses for event publications.
“We have collaborated with several media partners and also several HMJs of Communication Studies in Indonesia to publish our event, and quite a lot of publications have been going on,” explained Nicho.
Nicho also added that his party has collaborated with several companies, especially media companies to help in the form of sponsorship and judging, this can be seen from the juries from national media companies such as Tirto.id, Narasi, and Tempo.co.
“We are also working with several companies that are ready to support and sponsor our event, then we have also contacted several judges, and have prepared them to become jurors in some of our competitions,” he said.
Although it is quite adaptive in the implementation of virtual face-to-face events, it would be difficult to run Parama Fest in its first year without the help of the Department of Communication Sciences. Nicho felt that the Undip Department of Communication Science provided sufficient support for students in completing the agenda which was still as old as this.
“The contribution of the Department in the Parama Fest event is quite helpful, we get support from the Department when we pitching we also get a lot of suggestions about our event, and of course we need this support and advice,” said Nicho.
After being scheduled for completion at the end of May, Nicho hopes that the Parama Fest that he leads will not only be a momentary celebration but can provide experiences and provisions for participants in the future.
“Of course, what we expect from the participants in participating in our event is that they not only need to participate and get prizes, they also get experience and supplies for them later,” he concluded.
